Principal's Welcome
Welcome to South Clinton Elementary School!
We currently have just over 240 students enrolled in our K through 6th grades. We have two classes of each grade level. Students in grades K-6 have their own Chromebook and this technology is integrated into instruction daily to enhance student learning.
Staff members, students, parents, and community members all work together and make SCES an amazing place to be! This year we would like to welcome several new staff members. Ms. Jayda Sliger will be a new kindergarten teacher. Ms. MaddieGrace Hensley will be a new first grade teacher. Ms. Kaylin Gibson will be our new third grade teacher. Mrs. Caroline Wilson will be joining us as our new school counselor, Ms. Taylor Kollenberg is going to be our new special education teacher, and Mrs. Drews Overton will join us as our new speech and language pathologist. I know you will help me in welcoming these new faces to South Clinton!
We have also had several teachers move to new positions this year! Mrs. Melissa Jay, formerly our special education teacher, has moved to first grade with Ms. Hensley. Ms. Courtney Case, who previously taught first grade, will be teaching fourth grade this year.
Please check our calendar and Facebook page frequently to stay up to date on school events.
If you have not connected through the Rooms app, please make sure to do so. Information was sent home in the beginning of year packets. This is how we communicate important information such as school events, school closures, etc. If you need assistance with this in any way, please let your child's teacher know. Rooms will be the communication tool that all teachers in Clinton City Schools will be using to communicate with parents.
We are so happy to welcome our returning students back, as well as welcome our new students! My goal this year is for all students to grow, know that they are loved, and love coming to school every day!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
LeighAnn Bonesteel
