FEDERAL PROGRAMS

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is the main law for K–12 public education in the United States. It replaced No Child Left Behind. The main purpose of ESSA is to make sure public schools provide a quality education for all students.

Clinton City Schools receives federal funding under Title IA, Title II, Title IV, IDEA, and IDEA Preschool (619).  Each of these programs is uniquely different in its requirements and rules.  The primary goal for all programs is to help the students that are considered at-risk.  Being identified as at-risk could be from the lack of financial resources available, language barriers, or lack of parental involvement in the educational environment.
